The Bitter End Yacht Club 2.0 has the following position available: Marine Mechanic
Position Objective: Responsible for performing all general maintenance and requiring skills in all phases for the repair and maintenance of all diesel and gasoline engines for boats.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on all diesel and gasoline boats.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following usage instructions.
- Control cost by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Diagnose issues timely and accurately.
- Perform fabrication and welding as required.
- Proficiency with electrical and diagnostic test equipment.
- Complies with BVI boat requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains boats records by recording service and repairs.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of any mechanical equipment or systems.
- Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring devices, and safety manuals.
- To clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the resort.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a mechanic
